Yale Field Hockey's 2nd Annual "Get a Grip" Campaign
On the heels of their very successful drive to raise awareness and funds for myotonic dystrophy research, the women's field hockey team at Yale will once again hold a season-long fundraiser for the MDF in honor of rising junior goalkeeper Ona McConnell, who has been diagnosed with this disorder. The campaign, known as "Get a Grip", launches with the team's September 3, 2011 game vs. Stanford.
The Bulldogs will collect pledges for a season-long “goal-a-thon” as part of their campaign to support the efforts of the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation. So, every goal they score will help bring us closer to treatments and a cure for myotonic dystrophy. Last year's inaugural campaign raised more than $50,000 for myotonic dystrophy research. More details about Yale's efforts can be found on the Yale Bulldogs website.
