MDF Board of Directors Meets with Medical and Scientific Advisors
MDF Board Meets in New Orleans, LO

On May 1, 2008 the MDF board members met in New Orleans with their Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) at the conclusion of their conference --- New Directions in Biology and Disease of Skeletal Muscle. The advisors expressed confidence that the MDF will provide helpful information to families living with myotonic dystrophy; encourage them to participate in research and to attract junior investigators into this field of research. In addition to the meeting, board members had the opportunity to mingle with other physicians and scientists treating and researching myotonic dystrophy. It is heartening to see the commitment and dedication of these medical and scientific experts spending much of their professional life in pursuit of treatments and a cure for myotonic dystrophy.
The second half of the day the board focused on its strategic plan and how the MDF can best serve families living with myotonic dystrophy.
