For several months a Richmond, Virginia family recently diagnosed with DM, has been raising research funding for Dr. Mani Mahadevan, myotonic dystrophy researcher at the University of Virginia.  Since researchers now understand what causes the disease, Dr. Mahadevan has begun the second phase of research, to find a treatment or cure.  Wanting to do something to help the cause, the Stone family has reported great personal satisfaction from their fund-raising events and are encouraging other families to initiate their own fund-raising efforts for DM research.  Todd Stone is an MDF Board member.
