MDF's Tax-Exempt Status Granted
Tax-Exempt Status Granted
March, 12, 2007
In March 2007, the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation achieved 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Since late fall of 2005, the dedicated MDF board members have been participating in weekly conference calls; they convened for strategic planning meetings in the fall of 2006. Dr. Richard Moxley, III from the University of Rochester and Dr. Richard Lymn who oversaw much of the muscle research at the NIH during his thirty-year tenure, have participated in many of our calls. Eight months after submitting our tax-exemption application we finally rejoice in this important achievement.
