Expanded Programming at the 2014 MDF Annual Conference!

Registration Opens April 15

In addition to updates on current research from our pharmaceutical and academic partners, the 2014 conference will offer expanded programming from expert speakers and facilitators to better serve the needs and interests of different attendees.

Advocacy is a key theme at the 2014 MDF Annual Conference. "We chose Washington, DC as the location for the 2014 conference to highlight the growing importance of advocacy in advancing Care and a Cure for DM," said Jeremy Kelly, MDF Board Chair.

This year we're offering four themed tracks:

  • Grassroots advocacy training so you can advocate successfully for DM with legislators
  • Community-led sessions on a broad array of topics that will also promote networking
  • Living with DM sessions led by DM physicians that focus on managing DM symptoms and improving quality of life
  • Ambassadors sessions for adults living with juvenile-onset DM.

“We know many community members make the conference an annual event,” says MDF Executive Director Molly White. “We've responded by expanding the conference program to offer new opportunities to network and engage, while continuing to provide updated research and disease management information that has made the conference so important to our community.”

New! Early Bird Registration

New to this year’s conference is the opportunity to pay a reduced Early Bird conference registration rate. Early Bird registration for $75/person is available April 15 - June 1. The regular registration rate of $100/person is available June 2 - August 15. Late registration after August 16 is $150/person.

Take in the Sights of Historical Monuments

In addition to a fun Friday opening reception program, MDF has arranged for a Twilight Bus Tour of Washington's national monuments on Saturday, September 12 for an additional $25 per person. “There is so much history in Washington, DC and we wanted to provide our community the opportunity to share the sight-seeing experience together,” says Aly Galloway, MDF Community Engagement Manager and former DC resident. Limited availability; sign up promptly via the conference registration site to reserve your seat.
