Thank You Advocates, 11 U.S. Representatives Sign DM Research Letter

Published on Tue, 04/30/2024

Over the past several weeks, Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation advocates across the country sent over 1,000 emails to their Representatives asking them to sign the letter authored by Reps. Jen Kiggans (R-VA) and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) urging the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee to include $10 million for peer-reviewed myotonic dystrophy research funding as part of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). The final letter signed by 11 Representatives was sent to the House Appropriations committee leadership this week.

Now the House Appropriations committee will review all the congressional requests they have received and begin to prepare a first draft of the budget.
