Richard T. Moxley, III, MD Tribute Program

Published on Thu, 07/12/2018

The University of Rochester held a tribute program entitled “A Celebration of a Pioneering Career in Neuromuscular Disease” May 31- June 1, 2018 in honor and celebration of Richard T. Moxley’s distinguished career as a clinician and researcher with a significant focus and commitment to myotonic dystrophy. The event included invited professionals from as far away as Japan and Milan and many of Dr. Moxley’s family members. The program began with a reception and a presentation by Dr. Jerry Mendell, the inaugural Richard To. Moxley, III Rare Disease Lectureship speaker, and included presentations from other professionals and family members, concluding with a closing dinner and speeches on May 31.

MDF created a short video to recognize and celebrate Dr. Moxley’s incredible commitment and impact on the treatment of myotonic dystrophy and scientific discovery to drive disease understanding and therapy development. “Mox” is in many ways irreplaceable, functioning as a singular force in the myotonic dystrophy field for over four decades.

We invite MDF community members to watch this short video. Those who would like to share messages and thoughts with Dr. Moxley can forward them to his University of Rochester email.
