Global Alliance Member Update - May 10th

Thank you for your participation in the Global Alliance for Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness! Please note the following updates below regarding the Logo Contest, the Global Alliance Virtual Roundtable, and International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day Important Dates.

1. Logo Contest:

Public voting is live. Thank you for voting on your top logo from all of our community’s wonderful submissions! Your votes have selected the top 5 semi-finalist designs. From today until May 25th, voting is open to the public to select a winning logo design. Access the Logo Design Contest Public Vote herehttps://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HB9MM53

Please invite your networks to vote! Please join us in sharing this voting link with your networks -- we hope to have as many voices included as possible. Download graphics and sample social media posts as a starting point for your communications.

What's Next? At our first Global Alliance Virtual Roundtable meeting in early June, we will share the contest winner for a discussion on colors or any alterations we may need to make to the winning design. Around June 15th we will all announce the winner to the public and start generating graphics, assets, and possible branded merchandise for International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day.

2. Global Alliance Virtual Roundtable:

The Global Alliance is a group of the world’s leading myotonic dystrophy-focused organizations and institutions, and we hope to gather in the lead-up to International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day to connect, collaborate, and share ideas about activities and events we are all planning.

Let us come together for a virtual roundtable meeting during the first week of June, during which we can discuss and exchange ideas for promoting and preparing for September 15th, as well as reveal and discuss the Logo Contest winner. This will be an optional, 1-hour meeting on Zoom, at a time that can work for the majority of those who respond to the poll link below. The global nature of the Alliance makes it challenging to find a convenient time for all time zones but we hope most of us will be able to participate.

Please take the following poll to indicate times when at least one representative from your organization/institution can join the roundtable discussion. If you are unable to attend this first meeting but would like to contribute comments to the meeting discussion topics, please send an email with your talking points to kate.beck@myotonic.org. We will send a confirmation email next week with the finalized time and date.
